Really you save my life today. I was upgrading from V4.0 to ESXi V5 and at reboot of one of my hosts I get this error.

Ranju,
It is the very same as on physical. Delete one of virtual disks, and go ahead to destroy SW raid. Remember to create snapshot first…

I ran into this issue couple of days back when I was trying to convert a Linux Debian (Lenny) which had a software RAID on it. I did cold cloning and it worked, but I ended up with 2 hard drives. How difficult is it to break the mirror after conversion? I am not overly familiar with Linux so any guidance would be appreciated.

Much safer solution is to ‘sudo’ that ‘raidutil’ command:
nagios ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /path/to/the/raidutil

FreeBSD users don’t like SETUID flags. ]:->

David – are you still working on this project? I just installed your yum rpms on rhel4.6 and everything works except for yum search. I get the following error –

Any ideas? Thanks for doing this work. The feature difference between yum 2x and 3x is significant and for those of us stuck with rhel4 your yum back port is a big deal.

We are having the same problem here with the AVG scanner… We have reported this issue along with Debug information and they are trying to resolve the issue for the last couple of weeks now.
